Came here for brunch, priced just under 10 pound, little on the expensive side.what we got served was plentiful good quality ingredients .local leek sausages were lovely.only downside ,service was pretty slow. 20 minuets wait for 3 hot drinks, and there was only us 3 and one other couple in the building.
We wandered into The Fat Boar after visiting the Victorian Christmas market in December and we weren't disappointed. Very busy at that time but still a table was found for us. Great beer and wonderful food, will be back soon.
Booked a table for the early evening business meeting, to use the taster menu as advertised. All that was available was Christmas menu reassuringly packed with sprouts and turkey. Leaving no alternative but the main menu. The food was very good and we enjoyed the much more expensive experience, but it wasn't the advertised menu or advertised prices. Maximising profits for Christmas can affect your annual income.
I ate here in a large party yesterday at lunchtime. It's a nice room and the staff were excellent. No criticism of front of house, whatsoever. The food, though, was decidedly middling. I ate from the set lunch menu, garlic and thyme mushrooms on ciabatta (which was no more than OK). My main course, however, a seafood tagliatelle, was very poor. Seafood wasn't fresh. The sauce was sweet and cloying. No effort had been made to season the dish or give it any love.The other members of our party thought that the food was OK. No one was enthusiastic. No one cleared their plate. But no one (other than me) was disappointed, either.I'd like to go again because of the staff and the location, but the mediocre food would put me off, sadly.
Probably the best pub in Wrexham town centre for food!! Always freshly made! Not your microwave rubbish! Good selection of craft beers! Nice staff! Recommend!!
