Stunning stately home in spectacular surroundings. Gardens and house are both perfect examples of their kind, and the cafe is fantastic too, if prone to being a little noisy when full. Highly recommended.
Beautiful park, great place to walk ot have a picnic. Best during the summer of you plan to spend the day outside. Shop has some good souvenirs also. Reasonable price.
Where do I start, what an absolute gem. The history in this place is palpable. The way the family treated its servant is a particularly nice touch. The grounds are manicured, the building is extremely atmospheric, and the staff that show you around are passionate and knowledgeable. This is a place to go and enjoy a lovely family day out...
I loved this place, great example of how a large estate would have been run. It was also the end of the apple festivities, I had know idea there were so many varieties of British apples. The smell in the barn of fresh apples was amazing. Unfortunately it was winding down for the winter so some areas were already closed to the public, but I would love to go again.
I like this place and at this time of the year (November) it's quiet. I had some time to spare and needed some lunch - which I enjoyed in the restaurant. I am a NT member so there is no cost of entry for me. I had a wander around the gardens. It was tidy and the gardens had been well tended and put to bed for the winter. A breath of fresh air in more ways than one.
